DEYC 58th Haul Out Party ends season
Our Club hosts several social events throughout the year. This year the DEYC once again held the Annual Haul Out Party at Blake’s Boat Yard in West Boothbay Harbor, on Saturday, Sept. 14. On this stunning afternoon over 130 boat enthusiasts enjoyed two hours on dry land to take pleasure in the social festivities that make our club the “Fun Club.”
The stories, jokes, laughter, camaraderie was fueled by an all-you-can eat grill that provided hot dogs, hamburgers, sides of mac-n-cheese and slaw, topped off by ice cream and a blueberry crisp.
This delicious Classic Barbecue was envisioned by newly elected Commodore Kristen King and Dan King and implemented by many who stepped up to be hands-on-deck. The always generous and varied selections of beverages courtesy of the famed Woody Wagon made sure no one left the event thirsty! Thanks to all our exceptional mixologists.
For those with a thirst for retail the Ship’s Store was on site offering end-of-season sales, greater online access and an ear for what people want next year thanks to Rear Commodore Steve Marin and Jen Davis Marin.
There was a pause in the socializing as Commodore Kristen King recognized and thanked many of our club members for their contributions and dedication to the club. The list of appreciation included Past Commodore Amy and Dusty Goodwin for their continued generosity hosting our annual event for countless years.
We were excited to greet the new DEYC Bridge and club leaders for 2024-2025: Commodore Kristen King, Vice Commodore Robert Ewing, Rear Commodore Steve Marin, Treasurer Steven Whipple; and Board members; P/C Steve Arkley, Nate Cagle, and Barb Gray.
