Dear Editor:

We would like to commend the town of Boothbay for its diligent efforts and performance during this winter of near record snow and harsh conditions. Under James Chaousis' wise leadership, each department has operated at peak capacity and performance.

Much praise to the following: Public Works Foreman Mike Alley and his crew for keeping the roads and public spaces clear and safe; Steve Lewis of the Boothbay Region Refuse Disposal District for maintaining operations under difficult conditions; Richard Spofford and Boothbay Fire and Rescue for protecting our personal safety and properties from loss; and to all the public employees who are dedicated to serving the residents of Boothbay.

We wish you all an early and warm spring.
