Deadline draws nearer for towns’ nomination papers
Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor have six and seven municipal seats respectively up for election in March. Elections for each town include two selectmen seats, one Boothbay-Boothbay Harbor CSD School Committee member, one BB-BBH CSD Trustee, one Boothbay Region Water District Trustee and one BB-BBH Cemetery District Trustee. Boothbay Harbor also has one Sewer District seat up for election. All elections are for three-year terms; to get on the ballot, a candidate must have the signatures of 25 registered voters in that town.
Boothbay Harbor
Select board vice chair Tricia Warren, Selectman Denise Griffin and BB-BBH Cemetery District Trustee Ralph Welch have submitted nomination papers for their seats. Boothbay Harbor Sewer District Trustee Sam Morris and BRWD Trustee David Tibbetts have taken out papers for their seats, but have yet to submit them.
Boothbay Harbor resident Ruth Macy has submitted papers for the CSD School Committee seat Larry Colcord held for over a decade.
The only Boothbay Harbor seat up for election that has not yet had papers taken out or submitted is the CSD Board of Trustees seat held by Richard Hallinan, chair of the board.
Papers are due back at 4:30 p.m. March 2 and should be handed in to Town Clerk Michelle Farnham. Elections are May 1 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the annual town meeting will be held at 9 a.m. May 2 in the Boothbay Region Elementary School gymnasium.

This article has been updated from its original posting. The only change is that Tricia Warren is vice chair, not chair, of the board of selectmen.
