Tue, 07/16/2019 - 1:30pm

Karl’s Kids will host a dance party as its first Lincoln County fundraiser on Friday, July 26 at the Lakeside Barn in Duck Puddle Campground in Nobleboro. Local dance instructor, Steve Hand, will teach a brief beginner West Coast Swing dance lesson and provide a demonstration of this popular, fun style of dance. A variety of dance music will follow and everyone is encouraged to dance the night away at this beautiful venue. The lesson will begin at 7:30 p.m. and the party will last until 10:30 p.m. The fundraiser is open to all. A $10 donation will be collected at the door. It’s BYOB and popcorn will be provided. Pizza, snacks and beverages are available for purchase at the campground store.

Karl’s Kids is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping less fortunate Lincoln County youth, up to age 18, participate in athletics by providing all kinds of sports equipment. Since 2007, the organization has encouraged children to be involved in athletics and pursue an active lifestyle. Since its inception, Karl’s Kids has helped more than 1,500 children in Lincoln County.

“We’re excited to bring this lively summer event for the community to enjoy, while supporting a great cause,” said Mary Berger, wife of the late Karl Berger whom Karl’s Kids is named after. “We encourage those who attend to make a weekend of it and enjoy all that Duck Puddle has to offer in lakefront camping on the beautiful 7 mile long Pemaquid Lake.”

Karl’s Kids is a Damariscotta/Newcastle, Maine Rotary Club community outreach program dedicated to the memory of long-time Rotarian, Karl F. Berger.
