Courtney Brewer to study at Disney college program
Courtney Brewer, a 2015 graduate of Boothbay Region High School, now a sophomore studying animation at Mount Ida College, class of 2019, has been accepted into the Walt Disney World Disney College Program for the spring 2017 semester.
Brewer is a member of the Honors Program at Mount Ida College and holds a 3.97 GPA in the School of Design, Animation Program. One of Brewer’s passions in life is the dream Walter Elias Disney brought to life with his vision to create the happiest place on Earth. From a young age, Brewer has always wanted to be a part of that legacy in making dreams come true, creating happiness, and adding beautiful creative art to the world. Brewer aspires to work as an animator for Walt Disney Animation Studios some day.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, each year over 50,000 college students apply for just 12,000 Disney College Programs positions, in Disneyland and Walt Disney World. The Disney College Program is extremely competitive and difficult to enter. The Disney College Program is a multifaceted internship that embraces many professional and life skills, continued academia, while building a resume of exceptional networking opportunities and guest interactions each preserving and building upon the legacy Walt Disney created.
Brewer will be working as an attractions cast member involving any one of the attractions within the parks at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Brewer will also be continuing her animation studies through Mount Ida College while attending a full-time internship at Walt Disney World. Brewer has been video logging her journey from acceptance into the program and will continue to do so throughout the 2017 spring semester.
