Please join the Lincoln County Republican Committee (“LCRC”) on Aug. 24 for a presentation about the Maine GOP Multicultural Center. The presentation will begin at 7 p.m. at the Damariscotta American Legion, 524 Waldoboro Road, Damariscotta. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Co-chairs of the Center, Suheir Alaskari and Aqeel Mohialdeen, will share their stories of emigrating from war torn countries to the United States in search of opportunity and a better life. Their dream was to create a center to help others like them become citizens, learn the language, acquire job training and assimilate in their new country.

Suheir and Aqeel worked with the Maine GOP to make their dreams come true and continue to assist others in doing the same. The Center in Portland opened in April, and recently, a new Center opened in Lewiston.

The LCRC is committed to fostering freedom and protection for all Americans including support for those who legally emigrate to our country.
