A medical incident is the likely cause of a one-vehicle accident Oct. 25 in the Hannaford's parking lot. At 11:10 a.m., Boothbay Harbor Police Department and Lincoln County Sheriff's Department responded to the incident. Lt. Brendan Kane reported the driver, Joel Whitcomb, 46, of Topsham, exited from Route 27 and drove left toward the far Hannaford parking lot. "He believed he was experiencing a medical incident and drove over the parking lot's curb and into the bushes," Kane said.

Boothbay Region Ambalance Service arrived, but Kane said the accident report didn't indicate anyone being injured or transported to the hospital.
