Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor virtual services

Wed, 04/07/2021 - 11:30am

Please join the Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor for live worship Sundays at 10 a.m. You can join us at www.congochurchbbh.orgFacebook, or tune into BRTV, channel 7 or 1301 for Spectrum subscribers.

On April 11, the Second Sunday of Easter, join guest minister Rev. Kenneth Bradsell as he explores John 20: 19-31 where we meet Thomas again, the disciple known by the word we always use to preface his name, “doubting.” Doubting Thomas has 155 words devoted to him in the entirety of the Scriptures. Why have the few words of this disciple giving voice to his doubt stuck with us through the ages? Perhaps because in the depths of grief, despair, and loss which all of us know intimately doubt is a recognized companion many try hard to push away. Perhaps because doubt is where we all find ourselves sometime along the road to faith. Join us this week to meet Thomas, the disciple who proclaimed Jesus, “my Lord and my God.” Thomas met his doubt head on. He gave voice to it, and in his deep and abiding faith he became one of the greatest evangelists for the emerging Church.

Send prayer joys and concerns to Prayer Chain Coordinator, Barbara Fritz at bfritz105@gmail.com. Note if you would like to have your prayer shared on Sunday during worship.
