Dear Editor:

Once again (how many years has it been) our very own Seahawk math team has distinguished itself as a math leader in Maine! Personal congratulations to each and every member of Team '24! I sure could have used your expertise some 80-plus years ago as I struggled through the challenges of various math courses. A plus B equals “What?" Additional congratulations are a must to the "two movers and shakers" behind the high accomplishments of the math teams, year after year, the dynamic duo of coaches, Peter and Nancy Gilchrist. Besides drilling/prepping the team for an up coming competition, coach Nancy wows them with her homemade cookies while coach Peter goes into his artistic mode to create each year a new Genius Trophy worthy of the finest art galleries.

Thank You Peter and Nancy for your years of math support in our schools and being such terrific neighbors!
