Chip Griffin and Bruce Harris are proud to announce their new partnership, Griffin & Harris, which will continue the 40 years of community service of Griffin Law Office.
“Bruce and I have known each other for over 10 years, since before he moved his family to the area,” says founding partner Chip Griffin. “We have worked side by side on many projects, boards, and professionally over the past several years. Our partnership allows us to continue providing high quality legal services to the Boothbay region particularly in the areas of commercial and residential real estate transactions, estate planning, real estate succession planning, and corporate and nonprofit formations.”
Community involvement has always been integral to the firm’s culture.
Chip graduated Boothbay Region High School class of 1973 and has been practicing law in Boothbay Harbor for over 40 years. He is a long-standing member of the Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club and served as president. He has served on the boards of the YMCA, the Boothbay Region Land Trust, the Boothbay Region Historical Society, as a founding board member of Safe Passage, a Maine-based non-profit supporting a school and children of the Guatemala City dump. He and his wife, Denise, have been members of the First Congregational Church for years and have two grown daughters who both live in Maine.
Before joining Chip, Bruce handled real estate matters involving property rights and eminent domain for nearly 30 years in Florida. Bruce is excited to use his experience to help the clients of Griffin & Harris. And in many ways, Bruce is following in Chip’s commitment to community footsteps as the current president of the Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club, vice president of the YMCA on the board of trustees, board Chair of Education Boothbay, and a member of the Harbor Theater board of trustees. Bruce and his wife, Medea, are the proud parents of six children who attend or attended local schools. They are members of St. Columba’s Episcopal Church.
When reflecting on his involvement in the local community Harris says, “We are strong believers in community participation and investing in our youth. We fell in love with this community many years ago, and we are blessed to be able to raise our family here.”
“Bruce brings a wealth of experience to the firm,” Chip says in closing. "I have come to greatly value his counsel and we both share a common love of our local community. We are excited for this new partnership.”
