Clerks encourage absentee voting

Sat, 06/20/2020 - 8:45am

    Dear Editor:

As Southport’s town clerk, I am writing to encourage voters to vote by absentee ballot in the upcoming Primary Election on Tuesday, July 14.

Any registered voter may cast an absentee ballot. Voting absentee in the privacy of your home is for your own safety, as well as the safety of all election workers. Maine’s absentee system is secure, safe, and easy. You may vote absentee with confidence.

To request a ballot, contact your local town clerk, or apply for a ballot online:

    https://www.maine.gov/cgi-bin/online/AbsenteeBallot/index.pl

    Other local town clerks:

    Boothbay Harbor, Michelle Farnham (633-3671)

    Boothbay, Andrea Lowery (633-2051, X-20)

Edgecomb, Claudia Coffin (online requests encouraged)

Thank you for helping us all do our part to bring you a safe election.

If you have other questions about voting absentee, contact your local town clerk, or you can read the Secretary of State’s online Absentee Voting Guide:
