Christopher Finch

Fri, 08/16/2019 - 10:15am

Christopher Finch died unexpectedly Aug. 10, 2019 by his own hand after using an illegal lethal drug purchased locally.

Christopher struggled with mental illness all his adult life, starting in his early teens.

As a young child, he was remarkably gifted in writing and music. He led his school band to win the New York State Music Award and received a music scholarship to college. Unfortunately, his mental health interrupted his path to success. His struggles to control the demons of his mind forced him to use drugs for relief.

Chris was a sensitive, caring person who loved his family, especially his new nephew, Lucas. Chris worked locally in restaurants around Boothbay Harbor and was known as a hard worker.

Chris is survived by his mother, father, sisters, baby nephew and his uncle Richard.

The owner of Mine Oyster is arranging a gathering for Chris on Monday, Aug. 26.
