Dear Editor:

Over time, Boothbay and its harbor have benefited from kindly monetary gestures, often given by those from away. None of these donors have been more gracious than Ed and Marie Bosarge. To them, among other gifts, we owe the newly created swimming pool at the local YMCA.

Thus, we vicariously share with Ed and Marie news this week, appearing in a leading financial publication, they have put up for sale their Houston, Texas chateau.

The owners are reported to be selling because they have homes all over the world and spend less time in the Houston property.

That our Boothbay region chooses its friends wisely is attested by the sale price of $43 million dollars, the largest price ever asked for a home in that city.
