Chamber starts out 2018 with a big bang

Temporary office at St. Andrews Village
Fri, 01/05/2018 - 9:30am

Imagine my surprise when I opened the door to the Chamber first thing Tuesday morning, Jan. 2 to no heat, no phones, no power and a layer of black soot everywhere! After my inital shock, I texted Sara and Kathrine and asked them to meet me for breakfast so we could make a plan.

After calling the insurance company, the plumber, the heating technician, the electrician and Servpro, we called our good friend, Bob Drury, at St. Andrews Village. Within the hour, we were packing up our essentials and computers and we moved into a lovely vacant apartment in St. Andrews Village. Bob greeted us at the front door with a cart for our belongings and his wonderful, infectious smile! He had already furnished the apartment with tables, chairs and a lovely wicker couch for our guests! All in time so I could make a 10:30 meeting! A very BIG "thank you" to Bob Drury and St. Andrews Village! This is what "community" is all about!

While we were able to take our computers and a few essentials, we do have some limitations for the next couple of weeks while we wait for the furnace to get repaired and Servpro is able to work their magic!

You can still reach the Chamber at 207- 633-2353. If you need assistance after 5 p.m., please text 207-356-4485 or 207-841-8889.

Our temporary offices are located on the second floor of St. Andrews Village, 145 Emery Lane, Room 215.

We will continue to keep you posted on our progress! Thank you for your patience as we work through these next couple of weeks.

One thing is for certain, we started out 2018 with a great big bang!
