Be at Brady’s on Union Street in Boothbay Harbor on Thursday, Nov. 10 at high noon to celebrate the birthday of the United States Marine Corps.

Said organizer Jim Singer of  Southport, “There will be a Marine Corps 247th birthday cake, and we’ll do the traditional cake cutting ceremony with my Marine Corps Mameluke sword.  Oldest Marine present gets first piece, youngest gets second.”

After the cake cutting tune up the old “pipes” for a rousing rendition of the Marine Corps hymn.
