Carol Jessen, daughter of Charles and Beulah Jessen, passed away July 28, 2020.

She visited the Boothbay Harbor region for 40 years.

Starting out with watercolor art workshops, she became a master of watercolor herself and gave workshops in the area as well.

After retiring as a high school English teacher, she spent winters in Appalachicola, Florida, and extended summers in Boothbay. Her travels were well documented and she regaled her friends with myriad stories of her adventures.

She wrote an instructional blog, caroljessen.blogspot.com, that was followed by many. At one time, her artwork was represented by Gleason Gallery, Boothbay Harbor.

Her work is in private collections all over the country. She exhibited often at the Boothbay Region Art Foundation.
