Bright blooms and sunny smiles abound at St. Andrews Village
Beautiful shades of lavender, pink and blue figured heavily in the bouquets created by the residents of St. Andrews Village with the help of the Boothbay Region Garden Club/Garden Therapy team. Flowers are at their best in Boothbay this time of year and fresh bouquets are a growing tradition for the August therapy activity. The team assists residents in the design of lovely bouquets of home grown flowers that are then used to grace the dining tables and other common areas of St.Andrews Gregory Wing and Safe Havens. The flowers are donated by garden club members and other resources so it is a "hands on" activity that involves more than just the "team." A variety of vases and colorful blooms are made available so the residents can choose their personal favorites for the arrangements.
Garden therapy is one of the most popular ongoing activities of the BRGC, which has just celebrated its 85th anniversary in the Boothbay region. The BRGC is affiliated with NGC (National Garden Clubs Inc.) and is a member of the GCFM (Garden Club Federation of Maine). For more information on the Boothbay Region Garden Club check out the website http://www.boothbayregiongardenclub.org/. Whether you are a seasonal resident or a year-rounder you are always welcome to join the club.
