BRHS cheerleaders qualify for state competition

    The 2015-2016 Boothbay Region High School cheerleading team finished sixth in the Class C South regional competition at the Augusta Civic Center on Saturday, Jan. 23 and qualified for the state Class C championships at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 2 p.m.

    "The girls have worked extremely hard and are so excited for the state competition," said coach Elizabeth Tilton. "The last time we went to states was in 2012, so we are really looking forward to it.  I'm glad they will get this experience!"

    The team has its third competition, Cheers from the Heart, coming up this Saturday, Jan. 30 at Biddeford High School.
