Boothbay runs past Dirigo, now 4-0

Sophomore Glory Blethen scored 14 of her game-high 23 points in the first quarter as the Boothbay Region High School girls varsity basketball team rolled past the visiting Dirigo Cougars, 53-29, Wednesday, Dec. 19.
Boothbay jumped out to an 18-5 first quarter lead and led at halftime, 35-14. Dirigo never posed a threat in the second half.
Joining Blethen in double figures was her sister, Faith, with 16 points. Senior Ashley Abbott hit two first-half three pointers and finished with six points.
Leading the way for the Cougars was Sophia Jacques with 10 points.
The win improved Boothbay’s record to 4-0. The Seahawks will next travel to Richmond to face the Bobcats on Friday, Dec. 21.
The Seahawk junior varsity won its contest, 47-42.
