Boothbay Region Veterans' Banners
Beginning shortly before Memorial Day 2024, banners honoring military veterans from Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, East Boothbay, Edgecomb and Southport were hung on utility poles and were to remain on the poles until Veterans Day.
The newspaper is happy to share photos of those veterans featured on the banners supplied by Boothbay Region Veterans Banners committee member Jim Singer of Southport. Other committee members organizing the effort were Sue Burge of Boothbay, Sarah Sherman McGrail of Southport, Joel Morley of Edgecomb, Dan Bryer of Boothbay and Phil Chapman of Boothbay Harbor.
The Boothbay Region Veterans’ Banner Program, organized by American Legion Post 36, was designed to honor all local veterans who served in America’s Armed Forces and to remember those who served from 1941 through the present day.
