Tue, 04/04/2017 - 7:45am
The Boothbay Register obtained test results from the water quality samples collected at Boothbay schools on March 25.
Twelve samples were collected in total: eight from Boothbay Region Elementary School and four from Boothbay Region High School. Five samples exceeded the Environmental Protection Agency limit for lead in drinking water of 0.015 mg/l.
Three of the samples that failed EPA criteria were only slightly above the limit. However, the sample collected at the Special Services sink at the elementary school was over double the limit and the one from the high school visitor’s locker room was more than 10 times over the limit.
