Boothbay Region Lions Club

Mon, 04/19/2021 - 7:15am

The Boothbay Region Lions Club met for a regular meeting on April 14.  We passed a motion to donate to the Community Health Center.  Plans were finalized for our Spring Project of putting together gift bags for shut-ins.  These will be delivered around May 1, May Day.

We voted in our new officers for the coming year: President: Jay Andrews, Secretary: Wendy Greenleaf, and Treasurer: Barbara Wallace

Lion Karen Nickerson, our treasurer and Zone Chair for Zone 10, and candidate for 2nd Vice District Governor 2021-2022, recently attended a three-day virtual meeting of the Regional Lions Leadership Institute. This leadership institute is for those Lions who have served as president of their club and are investigating advance leadership roles within the district. The Boothbay Lions Club is very appreciative of Karen’s expertise and commitment to our club.

In a recent message from Lions International President Jung-Yul Choi, it was good to be reminded that “even though there might be distance between us, there is no divide amongst us. No matter where we call home, we are united through service. And together our Lions family will never stop working to make the world a better place for all people.”

Our next meeting will be a dinner meeting on April 28 at 6:15 p.m. at the club house in the East Boothbay Fire Station.  For more information visit our Facebook page.
