Boothbay Region Land Trust talks turkey
From Thanksgiving to Christmas, turkey can be found on countless dining room tables. Our connection to this notorious bird goes back even further in time than the first Thanksgiving. In fact, the turkeys we enjoy today are descendents of those domesticated in what is present day Mexico over 2,000 years ago.
The Boothbay Region Land Trust (BRLT) invites you to learn more about this fascinating bird we call turkey on Sunday, November 4 at 1 p.m. in the Coastal Room at the Boothbay Region YMCA.
Join BRLT Environmental Educator Tracey Hall for a fun and entertaining look at the turkey and our connection to this tasty bird. Learn about the difference between the wild turkey we see in the woods and those living on farms, while looking at the life cycle and ecology of this fascinating fowl. You may never look at your Thanksgiving dinner the same way again.
This event is free and open to everyone, with advanced registration requested. To register or for more information, contact the BRLT office at 633-4818 or brlt@bbrlt.org.
