Boothbay loses in overtime

A buzzer-beating three-pointer in overtime by Monmouth’s Mat Foulke gave the host Mustangs a 63-60 win over the Boothbay Region Seahawks in Class C South basketball action Wednesday, Jan. 13. Foulke’s winning shot was taken from about halfcourt.
The loss dropped Boothbay’s record to 8-4 while Monmouth improved to 7-4.
Hunter Richardson led the Mustangs with 23 points, followed by Nick Sanborn with 16 and Luke Thombs with 11.
Abel Bryer was Boothbay’s top scorer with 22 points, while Jacob Leonard added 13 and Kyle Ames had 12.
Boothbay will play Winthrop tonight at home, with the junior varsity game starting at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity tipping off at 7.
