Boothbay loses to Bulldogs

The Boothbay Region High School field hockey team lost its first game of the season at Hall-Dale, 2-0, on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Coach Donna Jordan said, “We were very excited to finally play a game. It is a very young team; we had five 9th graders start their first varsity game of their careers. Without having a preseason scrimmage we observed a lot of growth throughout the game which is promising for our future. We gave up two goals in the first half, one in the 1st quarter and one in the 2nd quarter.

“During the 2nd half our defensive performance became much stronger as we held them scoreless. Offensively we were unable to finish in the circle.”

Seahawk goalie Jaelyn Crocker had eight saves.

Boothbay’s next game is at home against Oak Hill on Friday, Oct. 2 at 4 p.m.
