The High School Sailing program is off to another strong start with 24 sailors from BRHS, Lincoln Academy and several home schoolers participating. The BRHS team has seen strong growth and is expected to qualify to compete in some challenging regattas this season. The Lincoln Academy team is ranked number 1 in the state which is a first for the program.

With three regattas already behind them they are gearing up for another event this weekend in Portland. The Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club hosted a regatta April 22. Clubs from up and down the Maine coast competed in the harbor.

It is never too late for any student to come and check out the program which is held weekdays after school with regattas on weekends anywhere from Portland to Camden. Watch for the hearty sailors in their dry suits practicing in the afternoons. We want to thank the DMR for letting the sailors use their float while we wait for ours to be put in.
