The Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club, one of our nation’s oldest (pre-1895) has selected its new slate of flag officers to lead the 2019 season. Succeeding Commodore Rob Wheeler will be Gardiner Rapeleye of Southport. At the annual meeting last Saturday when elections were held, Gardiner gave a heartfelt and impressive acceptance address. Other new flag officers elected were Liz Rettenmeier of Bangor and West Boothbay Harbor as vice commodore and Jon Dunsford of Boothbay Harbor as rear commodore. 

Susan Strouss was elected secretary to succeed Linda Burley and Jay Haberland will continue as treasurer.

Elected to the board of directors were: Thomas Blake, Nathan Cagle, Charlie Cochrane and Ella Long. New finance committee members will be Kathleen Chapman and Jeffrey Long and added to the constitution and by laws committee are David Brooks and David Swetland.

All new officers take their official seats in October of this year.
