Boothbay Harbor voters pass Articles 2, 3, BHSD charter

Maine passes Questions 1, 2 with 83% of precincts reporting

    Boothbay Harbor voters came out to the polls Nov. 5 in relatively large numbers for an off year. Articles 2 and 3 of the town warrant aimed to amend an an omission in the definition of height of a structure and to change to the land use table. Both passed 306-244 and 12 blank, and 301-243 and 18 blank. Residents also favored a change to Boothbay Harbor Sewer District’s charter, allowing one Boothbay representative, 486-67 and eight blank.

    Question 1, $100 million in transportation bonds, passed with an overall 124,730-39,007 or 76.2% - 23.8% with 83% of precincts reporting as of 6 a.m. Boothbay Harbor voted 470-88 and 12 blank.

    Question 2 seeked to approve a constitutional amendment letting people with disabilities provide alternative signatures. It passed 123,028- 39,399 or 75.7%-24.3%. Boothbay Harbor voted 449-109 and three blank.
