Boothbay Harbor Region takes off at the Portland Jetport
Last week, the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce joined forces with Kate Butler Thomas from KBT creative, Bob King of Clear Channel Airports and six local businesses to set up a display at the Portland International Jetport near Gate 8 at the Delta gateway.
This was the brainchild of Tony Heyl, from A Silver Lining, the Maine Bracelet Company, who had been displaying his fine silver jewelry there for years.
“We’ve been so successful, I can barely keep up with the orders,” Heyl said. “So I thought, what a great way to showcase our region and share the space with other businesses.”
Chamber Executive Catherine Wygant Fossett put the call out to members and was delighted to have the following participate for the year: Boothbay Harbor Country Club, The Inn at Cuckolds Lighthouse, A Silver Lining, Spruce Point Inn Resort & Spa, Rocktide Inn & Restaurant and House of Logan.
The Boothbay display is in good company with other well-known businesses from around the state that also have display cases in the Jetport including: L.L.Bean, Hammond Lumber, Mexicali Blues, Lovell Designs, Sea Bags, Toms of Maine, Thomas Moser Furniture, Camp Sunshine, LePage Bakeries, Pineland Farms and so many more. Kate Thomas designed the two sided poster featuring the region and the businesses each provided products or items that represented their business to be on display.
Outside the case, the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce’s 2014 Visitor & Resource Guide will be available for pick up to tempt the more than 1.7 million travelers who annually visit Maine's largest airport to take a step further and come visit the region!
