Boothbay Fire Department Open House
Over 120 people attended the annual Boothbay Fire Department Open House held on Oct. 7. Attendees enjoyed the free food served by the Boothbay Fire Department, Bayview Masonic Lodge and Boothbay Region Missfires. The guests also received free fire prevention materials and saw firefighters demonstrate their equipment.
“I’m not exactly sure how many people attended,” said Boothbay Fire Chief Richard Spofford. “But we served 120 hamburgers.”
The Masons served hot sausage subs, the Missfires provided deserts and coffee, and the Boothbay Fire Department served hot dogs and hamburgers.
Boothbay was joined by Southport, Damariscotta, Wiscasset and Boothbay Harbor fire departments. The Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency demonstrated its command center.
Kids went through a smoke trailer where they learned how to escape by climbing down a ladder. They were also given posters and a fire prevention tip packet. “Sparky the Fire Dog” also entertained the crowd.Event Date
