The Seahawks outscored the visiting Winthrop Ramblers 19-3 in the third quarter and went on to win, 47-24, in a match-up of the top two teams in Class C South girls basketball Tuesday, Jan. 22.

The win improves Boothbay Region High School’s record to 14-0 while Winthrop drops to 11-2.

Boothbay held a 17-10 halftime lead as both teams had trouble scoring.

Faith Blethen again led the Seahawks in scoring with 15 points (two 3-pointers), followed by Madison Faulkingham with 10 points (two 3-pointers). Josey Smith and Ashley Abbott each added five points.

Winthrop was led by Aaliyah Wilson-Falcone with eight points

Boothbay will host Wiscasset (0-13) on Thursday.
