Boothbay boys win third straight 66-63 over Monmouth

The Boothbay boys basketball team won its third straight game with a thrilling 66-63 victory over Monmouth Friday night at Potter Memorial Gymnasium. With 18.8 seconds remaining, sophomore guard Sullivan Rice made two free throws giving Boothbay a 64-61 lead. On the ensuing possession, Monmouth’s Connor Davies was fouled shooting a 3-pointer with 5.8 seconds remaining. Davies made two of three free throws trimming the lead to one. Monmouth fouled Boothbay’s Steve Reny who made both free throws and finished the game with a game high 27 points.

Boothbay is 3-0 and travels to Dixfield on Tuesday, Dec. 18 to play Dirigo (1-2). Monmouth falls to 1-3.
