Boothbay baseball defeats Mount Abram 13-3
The Boothbay baseball team showed no mercy against Mount Abram at home Friday afternoon. The Seahawks won their first game in three years with a 13-3 victory in Mountain Valley action. Boothbay led 9-3 entering the bottom of the fifth inning at Sherman Field.
The Seahawks needed four runs to win the game due to the 10-run mercy rule. Leading 12-3 with one out and Gabe Purin on second base, Hunter Arsenault delivered a game winning double plating Gabe Purin from second base. The 10-run margin in the fifth inning resulted in the game ending due to the mercy rule. Arsenault proved to the star of the game with three hits. He also pitched. Arsenault entered the game in the fourth inning with no outs. He retired the next three batters and Mount Abram only managed one run.
Boothbay is now 1-4. Mount Abram of Salem is 0-5.
