Board approves two new JEDC members
The Boothbay Harbor Board of Selectmen voted Nov. 14 to fill two vacancies on the Boothbay/Boothbay Harbor Joint Economic Development Committee (JEDC). John Dunsford and Jeff Teel were chosen to take the seats vacated by Boothbay Harbor members Frank Fassett and Jaimie Logan.
Selectman Wendy Wolf, who also serves on the JEDC, said of the two candidates, “Both are committed to fostering economic development and both bring different perspectives and skills, Jeff as an innkeeper and restaurant owner and John with his engineering and architectural experience.”
Selectman Mike Tomko supported Wolf's recommendations, saying, “I've had a chance to speak with John Dunsford, as he's a member of the Boothbay Harbor Planning Board. He will be a great addition. I also had an opportunity to speak with Jeff and he was very enthusiastic. Both of them will make strong members.”
The JEDC is made up of one selectman each from Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor; a representative from the Chamber of Commerce; four business representatives from each town; and both the Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor town managers.
The motion to seat Teel and Dunsford passed unanimously.
