Bike and Build returning to Methodist Church

Wed, 07/18/2018 - 7:30am

For the fourth time, the Boothbay Region United Methodist Cooperative Parish will be hosting the Bike and Build group. Bike and Build is a group of young adults who are bicycling from Key West to Canada. They began their trip on May 20 and will finish on July 27. The riders have aided on rebuilding projects as they have traveled on their journey north. They have stopped at many of the East Coast’s favorite destinations. At sights in southern Florida, they assisted in rebuilding work on places damaged by natural disasters.

The Boothbay Harbor, Southport and East Boothbay United Methodist churches are pleased to host the group again. They will arrive on Friday, July 20 in the afternoon. Church members will supply the group with supper and breakfast meals and a place to lay their weary heads for the night. All are invited to stop by the Boothbay Harbor church (across from the Opera House) to meet and greet the group. They are always a great bunch of people to talk to and they are willing to share stories of their travels. They will set out early Saturday morning, July 21 to continue to the Maine border at Calais.
