After nearly 20 years practicing her trade in Boothbay Harbor, Donna Begley didn’t have to go far to find a perfect location for her new salon Head to Toe. In fact, she never had to leave home.

“I was hounding my husband for years about turning part of our house into a shop and we finally finished,” said Begley. “The ideas kept coming.”

Begley specializes in both hair and reflexology, a type of massage which applies pressure to areas on the feet, hands and ears. The benefits are myriad and can help relieve stress, pain, and the everyday pounding bodies take, said Begley.

While she will continue with her traditional services, Begley has turned her focus to feet.

“I’ve always had a lot of women who wished their husbands would be open to having their feet worked on,” she said. 

While most men are not inclined to have manicures or pedicures, she offers an alternative through a foot soak, something that both feels good and has medicinal qualities.

“I’m hoping to work with diabetics,” said Begley. 

Longtime clients of Begley can expect a large welcoming space with a designated sitting area in a convenient location. With such a short commute, Begley will have the ability to choose her hours and maintain a peaceful work environment. 

“I want it to be professional and give people good, local options,” said Begley.
