Art auction raises $5,500 for BRCRC
In 2022, Kerr+Jones Gallery in East Boothbay raised $3,000 in support of the vital work of the (Boothbay Region) Community Resource Council, which offers services to individuals and families on the Boothbay Peninsula in need of food, heating fuel and firewood, clothes, school supplies, rides to and from appointments, and addiction counseling. The Community Navigator service promotes health and financial stability. The CRC’s director is our State Representative, Holly Stover, who, with a team of dedicated local volunteers and charitable donations makes these services possible.
Recently, the “Artful Auction” at Kerr+Jones Gallery nearly doubled the amount previously raised with a total of $5,500. Generous sponsors included First National Wealth Management, Bangor Savings, Nathan’s Pharmacy and First Federal Bank. The East Boothbay General Store and Eventide Specialties provided appetizer platters and refreshments.
Nearly 30 items were auctioned by an enthusiastic Peter Panagore and happily purchased by a generous group of bidders at the gallery. Among the donors were Ae Ceramics, MJ Benson, Susan Bartlett Rice, the family of Lina Burley, Bowerbird Studio, Kate Jones, Andrew Morley, Andrea Peters, the family of Carlton and Joan Plummer, John Rogers, David Witbeck, the artisans of Morocco and gallery owners Diana Kerr and Kathleen Jones.
