Dear Editor:

I would just like to take a moment to properly thank both the Education Boothbay organization and the Boothbay Region High School (BRHS) graduating class of 2024 for their incredible kindness and generosity in naming me Teacher of the Year this year!  I wish I could have said so at the ceremony last week, but I found myself choked up and I just couldn’t find the words at the time to thank everyone as fully as I wish I could have. 

There has truly been no greater honor over the course of my nearly 20 years as a professional educator than that moment last Wednesday when Ms. Ariel Alamo presented me with the award, and I found myself overwhelmed with thanks and gratitude at that moment. I hope everyone who was involved will accept this letter (and my silent tears of gratitude at the ceremony) as my true thanks for being lucky enough to be named the 2024 BRHS Teacher of the Year!

Again, thank you all so very, very much and congratulations to every single member of the graduating class of 2024!  It has been one of the greatest privileges of my career to be your teacher; I cannot wait to see all the wonderful things ahead for each and every single one of you!
