Appreciate the help after injury
Dear Editor:
On Nov. 24, 2023, I fell off a step ladder and broke my heel in three places. The injury turned out to be a nightmare. The titanium infected the bone and had to be removed. I had to take a lot of antibiotics and had 42 rounds of infusions.
I would like to thank the many people who helped me through these tough times.
Bob Dumais for his unwavering support, taking me to many doctor appointments and hospital visits, helping me get food, changing my bandages and helping me stay sane.
Jen and Eric Marden for taking me to the emergency room late at night, bringing me home, helping with food and supplies, and offering words of hope.
John and Barbara Pratt for trips to the emergency room, helping me to use their shower, and lots of support.
Steve Berger for helping me get food and supplies and his support during a very difficult time at an infusion, and his words of encouragement.
Laurie and Orlando Jaramillo for their support and supplying necessities.
Eric Wood for taking me to a doctor’s appointment in Waterville, a nice meal and visit at their home.
John and Jen Cusick for their help and caring in my difficult time. They brought me home from an emergency room visit in the early morning hours and let me stay at their house some nights.
Lindsey Fergola for her help through this time.
Jean Duncan for cleaning my place.
Boothbay Harbor House of Pizza, and Jeff and Joanne DiMauro for all their help and exceptional caring.
