An apology

    I am sorry Paul Adams.

On the front page (and later on in the June 1, 2023 issue), I called you Paul Dodge in the cutlines under the photos you are in for some unknown reason. I have corrected your name online – the luxury of electronic media – but ever since I was told that I messed up, which was too late to change your name in print, I have kicked myself mentally and searched my gray matter of why I did what I did.

It was a human mistake. It wasn’t the first time I have done it (I once misspelled my own daughter’s name in a column I used to write) and it probably won’t be the last. However, it still bothers me and I hope to apologize to you in person and somehow make it up to you.

You represented yourself and your fellow veterans very nicely on Memorial Day and I apologize again for my mistake.
