AOS 98 prepares for policy review
The Alternative Organizational Structure (AOS) 98 school board met Nov. 7, its first meeting since May.
The board broadly talked about a policy review to take place during a later date and agreed to take a first read of policy language for the board's Dec. 9 meeting. Members also discussed forming a subcommittee for the review. Policy items to review included board powers and responsibilities, public comment, a code of ethics, nepotism, board member orientation and the superintendent position. The board clarified the policies are only for the AOS 98 board, independent of local boards.
In other business, the district reported the 2024 AOS 98 financials have been prepared for the state, and the 2023 audit will begin soon.
Alaine Pinkham was unanimously elected the board’s secretary/executive clerk.
