Anita Metcalf, 83, died on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013 in the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

She was born on October 16, 1929 in Bath, the daughter of the late Paul and Frieda (Ehlers) Bagdikian. She attended Bath schools and the University of Vermont, graduating with both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in classics. She was married to Charles E. Metcalf, now deceased, for 46 years. Together they owned and operated a fire equipment business.  

She is survived by a son, David E. Fosbroke, and a grandson, Kenneth Fosbroke, both of Fairmont, W.V.  

Anita was most appreciative of Sue Stack and David Martin for the years they cared for her. Also, a special thank you to friends Lila Wilkins, Judy Martin, Bear Reynolds and Donny Stack, for making her life easier.  

At Anita’s request, there will be no services.
