Henry Lowe, director of music emeritus at Church of the Redeemer in Baltimore, Maryland, has served parishes in Baltimore, New York City, Hamilton, Massachusetts and Cincinnati, Ohio. In 2016, following a 50-year career in the Episcopal Church, he retired from The Church of The Redeemer, where he led choirs of children and adults in weekly rehearsals and liturgies.

His recital career has taken him to many parts of the United States, England, Holland, Germany and France, playing at such noteworthy places as St. Paul's Cathedral, London and Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris.

He is past dean of the Cincinnati and Baltimore Chapters of The American Guild of Organists, where he has been a presenter for conventions, workshops and recitals.

Henry and his wife, Leigh, come to Southport for a few weeks each summer where Henry serves as guest organist at All Saints by-the-Sea and Leigh pursues her passion for painting. Her work can be viewed at leighlowefineart.com

Last summer Henry gave an All Saints’ Organ Concert including works from Bach, Davies, Faure and Vierne. This summer’s concert will be many of the beloved hymns which so many people have missed singing in their churches because of the pandemic.

The concert will be posted on Sunday, Aug. 16 at 4 p.m. on All Saints’ website www.allsaintssouthport.org (Click on Services and scroll down.) The concert can be found on All Saints’ YouTube Channel.
