Adopting 2017-2018 budget among school meeting recommendations
A recommendation that the school committee adopt the 2017-2018 district budget is among items listed on the agenda for the Wednesday, April 12 Boothbay-Boothbay Harbor Community School District (CSD) School Committee meeting. The item reads, “Recommend the committee adopt a community school district budget of $9,748,282.61, with assessment to the towns for $8,282,007.61 for the 2017-2018 fiscal year”. A recommendation that the school committee adopt an Adult Education budget is also on the agenda.
Agenda items include reports given by AOS 98 Superintendent Eileen King and Assistant Superintendent Shawn Carlson on current budget, policies, 2017-2018 budget adoption, and CSD/Edgecomb and Southport meal service agreements.
Others giving reports include Boothbay Region High School student representative Kate Friant, School Committee Chair Larry Colcord, Boothbay Region Elementary School Principal Mark Tess, BRES Assistant Principal Tricia Campbee, BRHS Principal Daniel Welch, and AOS 98 Title IX/Affirmative Action Coordinator Allan Crocker.
The committee includes Larry Colcord, Representative Stephanie Hawke, John Bertolet, Brian Blethen, Bruce, MacDonald, and Peggy Splaine. Administrators include Eileen King, Shawn Carlson, Dan Welch, Mark Tess, Tricia Campbell, Lisa Smith and Allan Crocker.
The school committee meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the BRHS library. Public participation is welcome.
