Acupuncture, therapeutic massage team opens new office in Newcastle

Sharon A. Gordon, licensed and nationally board certified acupuncturist of AcuSharon and Susan Peters, licensed massage therapist of MedSport Massage are pleased to announce they are teaming up to offer therapeutic acupuncture and massage services at their new office, 39 River Road in Newcastle.

Sharon began her practice four years ago at Spectrum Generations, Damariscotta offering Community Ear Acupuncture to help PTSD and addiction. Prior to relocating to Maine, Sharon successfully treated patients for over 20 years in an integrative medical practice in New York specializing in chronic pain, immune and digestive disorders. Gordon’s acupuncture treatments helps reduce preoperative anxiety, reduce post-operative pain and speeds recovery. The National Institutes of Health documented the efficacy of acupuncture that is now widely accepted. Gordon holds a master’s of acupuncture degree from the Academy For Five Element Acupuncture, Florida and advanced training from the New England School of Acupuncture and The Swedish Institute in New York City. Over the years Sharon has integrated therapies of cupping, gua-sha, moxibustion and aromatherapy to help restore her patient’s health and vitality.

Susan Peters, LMT, BAS has been a massage therapist since 2006, with an associate’s degree from the New York College of Health Professions and a BAS from the University of Maine, Augusta.  Susan has worked at Spruce Point Inn, Boothbay Harbor since 2012 and focuses on therapeutic and medical sports massage. Susan utilizes deep tissue, trigger point therapy, stretching, warm stone and Korean Amma massage techniques to reduce pain and increase the range-of motion of her patients wherever their structural problem lies. Peters is also a former Golden Glove national boxing champion where her interest in sports massage developed.
