2026 Maine Wild Blueberry Festival poster contest
The Trustees of the Union Fair / Maine’s Wild Blueberry Festival are launching our annual contest to choose a design suitable for use in publicizing the 2026 Union Fair which will occur on Aug. 5 - 9. Please note that the deadlines and poster contest rules and requirements have changed.
The poster contest is open to any US citizen 13 years and older, with a special opportunity for youth up to age 12. Entries must include Maine Wild Blueberries and at least one traditional Union Fair agricultural animal, but may also include Union Fair buildings, fairs/carnivals, events, farm animals, 4-H, crafts, etc. Posters should reflect the aspects of a traditional Agricultural Fair as well as Maine Wild Blueberries.
Art work should be poster size, 11” x 17” and should not include lettering, dates, etc. and must be original. Computer generated and/or artificial intelligence (AI) submissions are not eligible for entry. Medium is artist’s choice but must be in color. Remember that the selected artwork will be utilized in the production of posters and other media so colors must be strong, design bold and avoid elements that do not reproduce clearly such as shading.
Contest entries will be accepted from the public except individuals and family members of Union Fair trustees and officers. The selected poster will be awarded a prize of $750. All rights to the selected artwork will become the property of the Union Fair. It is hoped that the artist will be available, but not required, to attend one or more days during fair week to be recognized and to sign posters, etc.
A special opportunity for children’s entries, ages 5-12, includes a winner’s prize of four free admission tickets for entry to the fair. All other rules for entry apply for the youth contest. March 2 is the final date for submission of entries! March 2026, announcement of winner. Entries may be submitted at any time until March 2 and should be mailed to: Union Fair Attn: Poster Contest P.O. Box 421 Union, Maine 04862 OR dropped off at: Union Town Office, Common Road, Union during normal business hours no later than March 2.
