Never been to a movie at Harbor Theater? Or, you’ve been to a movie but wonder about how some things work at the theater? Here are some FAQs with Answers!

  • Can I request movies I would like to see?

Yes! If you read or hear about upcoming films that interest you, feel free to email us at info@boothbaycinema.org to ask a question or make a suggestion! Or, if you have an idea for a special event, we’d love to hear about it!

  • Can I buy advance tickets online for upcoming films?

No. We only sell tickets online for special reserved seats events. But take heart: our auditorium seats 170, so we seldom sell out any particular showtime.

  • How can I avoid standing in line to buy tickets and concessions?

Arrive early! Especially when blockbusters are scheduled in the summer, it is best to arrive early to get your tickets and the best seats. The box office opens 1 hour before showtime. You can always purchase your tickets early, then take a stroll, or go in and watch our interesting local advertisements and announcements! It’s amazing what you might learn about our community!

  • Do you have special accommodations for people with hearing, vision, or mobility challenges?

Harbor Theater offers a wheelchair accessible entrance and wheelchair seating in the auditorium. For audience members who are hearing impaired, assistive listening and closed caption devices are available at the Concessions stand. Audience members who have low vision can take advantage of our headphones for visual impairment which include a channel switch that allows the user to select to hear either the film soundtrack or a descriptive narration, or both. We also offer a weekly Wednesday matinee with on-screen open captions! https://boothbaycinema.org/about-us/

  • What does OCAP mean on a showtime listing?

OCAP designates a showtime when Open Captions are available on screen! Currently, that is every Wednesday at 2:00 pm.

  • Can anyone rent the theater to hold an event or show a movie?

Yes! You can host a private party (such as a child’s birthday or a family occasion) and show a movie of your choice or host a public event (like a marathon fundraiser or book club movie)! For more information: https://boothbaycinema.org/theater-rental/

  • What does it cost to rent the theater?

Rentals run from $150 for a private party to $400 for an event rental. Nonprofit organizations receive a 50% discount on theater rentals. Check out the possibilities at https://boothbaycinema.org/theater-rental/.
