Task force meeting

 The first St. Andrews task force meeting was held Wednesday, Aug. 29 at the Boothbay Town Office. 

The task force will remain a town selectmen-only group with Chuck Cunningham (Chairman, Boothbay), Valerie Augustine (Boothbay Harbor), Smith Climo (Southport) and Stuart Smith (Edgecomb) as its members and Boothbay Town Manager Jim Chaousis as its facilitator. It will rely on town volunteers to staff working groups and to provide funding and expertise. (Full article)

Mary Ellen Barnes of the Lincoln County Regional Planning Office offered to help the task force with economic analyses and other studies.
Helen Farnham, a charter member of Boothbay Region Ambulance Service and former EMT, offered her services to the task force. “This is something I would really like to do,” Farnham said.
Skip Humphries said the original deed that transferred St. Andrews Hospital from the Gregory family to the St. Andrews non-profit corporation restricts the property’s use to a medical facility.
Nancy Oliphant was emphatic that another approach for St. Andrews Hospital was possible. “I am the only physician that is not owned by Lincoln County Healthcare,” Oliphant said.
