Meet the Seahawks

Friday, December 7, 2012 - 01:28 pm

Team members for the 2012-2013 season.

Aaron Dickinson, 5'10” guard, sophomore. The back-up point guard will learn under Anthony DiMauro. Aaron Dickinson is an athletic guard who fits the Boothbay mold and will be able to keep the offense moving at its uptempo speed.
Andrew Hallinan, 6' guard, junior. The six-foot junior's defense earned rave reviews from Head Coach I.J. Pinkham. Hallinan's effectiveness stretches to both ends of the floor, where the guard can shoot from the outside to complement the Seahawk's fast-break approach.
Anthony DiMauro, 6'1” guard, senior - captain. Anthony DiMauro returns for his senior season hoping to add even more hardware to a stand-out career. As the team's point guard and primary offensive weapon, DiMauro will again be tasked with picking up the tempo and making sure the Seahawks are on the move. On the offensive end DiMauro earns top marks for his slashing, shooting, passing and driving abilities.
Brad Drummond, 6'1” forward, junior. The lengthy forward is a weapon on both ends of the floor. Both Simmons and DiMauro praised Brad Drummond's scrappy play and the lefty earned top marks for his rebounding ability and hard play.
Evan Hepburn, 6'1” forward, sophomore. Lauded for his touch as a shooter, Evan Hepburn will be counted on to make opposing teams pay for leaving him out on the perimeter. His 3-point shooting gives the Seahawks another viable scorer and can provide scoring in bunches.
John Hepburn, 6'2” forward, sophomore. The big man is adept at crashing the boards and coming up with rebounds on both ends of the floor. His ability to create points in the paint off second chances give the Seahawks balance in the post.
Joseph DiMauro, 6'2” forward, sophomore. The lengthy forward adds depth, especially on the offensive end where his shooting ability drew raves from his older brother, Anthony. “He's a sharp shooter,” the older DiMauro brother said, adding “all he does is shoot.
Lincoln Simmons, 6' forward, senior – captain. Picked as a captain, Simmons will be counted on to be a dominant force in the middle for the Seahawks. The senior isn't as tall some other seniors, but few will work as hard for boards. Simmons also possesses a deft touch around the rim for a center.
Nick Kilgus, 5'10” guard, sophomore. The guard is lauded as an athletic player and for his overall game. He's expected to run with DiMauro and help to pick up the pace in the Seahawks' fast break offense.
Shawn Simmons, 6'1” forward, junior. The younger brother of captain Lincoln Simmons, the younger Simmons garners rave reviews for his ability to move opposing forwards out of the paint. Along with his older brother he is expected to punish in the paint.
Stephen Barter, 5'11” guard. The senior sets the tone with hard-nosed play, hustle and ability to grab rebounds. He has a knack for getting second chance points off of offensive rebounds and will again be counted on to out-hustle opposing players.
Abby McLellan, 5’2” guard, junior. Abby McLellan is a game changer. A tenacious defender and a fearless offensive player, McLellan just attacks and attacks and attacks. A relentless competitor, McLellan will fill multiple roles for the team this season – sometimes a distributor, sometimes a scorer, sometimes a defensive stopper – McLellan will do whatever it takes to win.
Alex Clarke, 6’1” forward, senior. Alex Clarke is poised for a break-out senior season. Known for her defensive prowess, Clarke has worked hard to improve her offensive game in the off-season. Strong enough to post inside and versatile enough to slash off-the-dribble, Clarke brings a truly dynamic skill set to the team. An accomplished leader who will set the tone for the Lady Seahawks all season long.
Allison Crocker, 5’9” forward, senior. Allison Crocker fills up a stat sheet – scoring in bunches from both inside and out, and often leading the team in rebounds, Crocker just gets the job done. A vocal leader who makes her presence known, Crocker always comes ready to play. Expect not only big numbers, but also extreme toughness as Crocker welcomes any challenge that comes her way.
Ashley Reed, 5’4” guard, sophomore. Ashley Reed returns to the Lady Seahawks program after a year in Florida where she started at point guard for her J.V. team. A super quick lefty, Reed knows how to set a pace and run the show. Look for her to continue to develop her outside shot and become a more dynamic offensive player as the season progresses.
Avae Traina, 5’11” forward, freshman. Avae Traina is another freshman who can anticipate a big role; Traina is a super athletic big who rebounds the ball well and can finish inside. She is continuing to develop her handle and already possesses a quality outside shot. As the season progresses, count on Traina to make her presence known whenever she steps on the floor.
Brooke Alley, 5’3” guard, junior. Brooke Alley brings energy and hustle to the team. Known for getting to the rim and drawing contact, Alley makes a living at the free throw line. One of the team’s best on-the-ball defenders, Alley will look to continue to improve her outside shooting this season and add another dimension to her game.
Hannah Brewer, 5’8” forward, junior. Hannah Brewer provides the team with some depth at the forward position. She is a great athlete who rebounds the ball well and can defend a variety of players. Brewer plans to continue to sharpen her offensive skill set and improve her handle as the season progresses.
Hannah Morley, 5’6” guard, freshman.	Hannah Morley will play a significant role for the Lady Seahawks as a freshman. A skilled offensive player and a good outside shooter, Morley's best attribute is her composure. She will spend a lot of time at the point guard slot and slide over to the off-guard when her shooting is needed.
Meghan Oakes, 5’2” guard, freshman.	Meghan Oakes is a worker. A great teammate who has a passion for the game, she is a solid ball-handler who can play both guard positions, Oakes will look to add an outside shot to her game this winter.
Morgan Crocker, 5’5” guard, sophomore. Morgan Crocker will make a tremendous impact during her sophomore year. A dedicated player who lives in the gym, Crocker is the team’s best slasher and will likely draw the opposition’s toughest defensive assignment on most nights. Quick enough to guard point guards and strong enough to defend post players, look for Crocker to make her mark on the MVC as one of the conference’s top defenders.
Nicole Rice, 5’8” forward, freshman. Nicole Rice is a superb athlete with a knack for putting the ball in the hoop. Able to mix it up inside or shoot it from deep, Rice’s offensive versatility is quite impressive. Rice will focus on improving her defensive skill set this winter, making her a valuable asset on both sides of the ball.
Sara Durgan, 5’3” guard, sophomore. Sara Durgan is a phenomenal talent. She is arguably the team’s best long range shooter, and has a great basketball IQ. Durgan is a fierce competitor who plays both ends of the court with unbound energy and passion. Look for her play a major role for the Lady Seahawks this winter as she provides depth at both guard spots.
Sarah Caron, 5’8” guard, senior. Sarah Caron is one of the premier scorers in the MVC. An established outside shooter, Caron will look to get to the rim more this season. Caron's enthusiasm for the game is unmatched. She is extremely competitive and a winner in every sense. The emotional leader of the team, Caron plans to do whatever it takes to help the team come out on top, night in and night out.
Kameron Markee, 6' forward, senior. “He's a big, strong guy who's rugged and not afraid,” Lincoln Simmons said of classmate Kameron Markee. The big man is counted on to help set the tone and grab rebounds on both ends of the floor.
Genevieve Taylor, 5’4” guard, freshman. Genevieve Taylor hustles like crazy and continues to develop her offensive skill set. With continued commitment, Genevieve’s game will only get better as the season progresses.
