The third annual Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce Claw Down at Ocean Point Marina Thursday night, Sept. 18 drew over 400 people as 18 local chefs competed in the “Lobster Bite” competition. The competition was fierce, according to the judges, and the event was a lot of fun. Read the full article here.

According to the chamber, over 450 pounds of shucked lobster was used for the event. Also:

  • The 18 chefs sourced 2,250 lobsters from local lobster wharfs to satiate the lobster lovers’ appetites
  • Sixteen states were represented, along with folks from New Zealand and Australia
  • For three consecutive years, Claw Down chefs have been featured on the food segment of WCSH’s Channel 6’s “207”
  • Seventy-two businesses and friends of the chamber were represented at the event.

The event helps promote the local lobstering industry, restaurants and chefs, and the Chamber of Commerce as the “guardian of the region’s economic well-being, advocate of area businesses and promoter of tourism.”
